I did it and it worked brilliantly. The key is to have the rose petals and tea light candles everywhere - walkway, bathroom, dinner table. This was also a relatively cheap V-day. The wine was the most expensive component, so not too bad.

1st step is to find out what the person really likes. Nothing is more romantic than when a person realizes that their mate has taken the time and effort to fully understand them. So I guess my question/request to you is to first find out what your mate likes and then I can give you a solid idea.

well basically a suprise... shes very outgoing and optimistic... loves random and sporadic things. No matter what we do shes always very pleased with the outcome. I personally think QT is the main thing that pleases her. and well, I give her that no matter what... Ive taken time off from work, jus to hang out and watch tv at home... gone on vacations together... etc...

Time together(trips) are a great idea...if you are not married...how about a ring?
Any hobbies or things shes always wanted to do?
There are things that couples can do together..for instance if she wanted to be a rockstar...there are rockstar camps. you may not think its romantic..but she would if its something she always wanted to do.
Making a dinner by yourself with a handmade menu and table settings is a killer.
Plan a night out which includes a dinner/dancing/limo ride home?!?!?! Sort of a James Bond type of way..have her peeking around corners looking behind and get into a james bond movie role play.
Give me an idea of hobbies/dreams and I will see what I can come up with.

Everybody thinks that if the dude gives her what she likes, he is original. Go against the herd. Surprise her, do something out of the ordinary, something that she never expects you would do for her. Play with her, pump her emotional state. When others go to dinner and movie, you grab a blanket and a telescope, hop into the car and go to a river, a hill, or a quiet place, where there's just you two under the stars.

ive done the night beach walks, gone to the mountains and hiked to a spot and looked at the stars, camping, walked for miles and jus talked, ive basically ran outta ideas to suprise her for a special day... most of the things i think i have done on regular dates, have been planned by others for special dates.

Play with her, trick her. You don't know what day it is, you're absolutely clueless. Is it the day when her parents should come over? Is it the day when you should pay the bills? And then surprise her when she least expects it.

I think a lovely picnic and an outdoor concert. I don't like movies as dates, you need to be somewhere you can get to know her better and be able to have fun. I think Ice-skating and going to a coffee house very nice too, or maybe an art museum. You don't really want to go somewhere super formal, unless you have been dating some time, is making her little nervous. :0

Something creative that's from the heart! Make dinner for your sweetheart, with candles, soft music, etc. Then take him or her to an intimate concert, poetry reading, or play - something that will help you connect emotionally. Afterwards, how about a walk in the moonlight!
