What is Love?
A person says, I love my parent. Then he gets married and says I love my wife. Then he starts loving his child. His priority keeps changing. What is happening here is the ATTACHMENT but no love.
Love is UNCONDITIONAL, ETERNAL and not subjective. Loving your country draws line between other countries and so on. Love is like a SUN, shines on everybody without discrimination.

It is easy to love a child, their ego is still a very thin veil and it is easy for us to drop our defenses with a child and our souls more easily connect. Same with puppies, kittens, etc.. and even, for some people, other things in Nature.
With 2 adults, there are moments when we feel so safe, un-threatened, understood, accepted by a new person, that we have that same soul to soul experience, and we call that falling in love, Over time it may be difficult to maintain trust and more an more difficult to have those times of trusting intimacy that allow us to feel love as we first did. Difficult, but not impossible.
Very high people, such as spiritual leaders, if they are truly following a way of attaining conscious union with divine, may also be like babies in that their egos are very thin veils, and followers "fall in love" with them. But anyone can learn to set aside their ego a little more, and connect a little more, everyday through wise aging, meditation, etc.
And what it is about our soul that makes this delightful experience possible? Soul is another word for a bit of the divine, that point of awareness within us that is a part of the Universal Truth.. at the moment we feel true, un-demanding, selfless love, we are actually feeling the GOD within touching GOD within the other.. the GREAT FLOW OF ENERGY AND BLISS that is the river of creation and the Universal Reality.
That is why it is important to always remember that love is not in you, you are IN LOVE. It is BIGGER than you. The minute you think you can hold it or withhold it, direct it, or deny it, it is GONE....

I disagree. Love is not unconditional, exclusive, and certainly not eternal. If you love your spouse, your love for him/her can quickly dwindle if betrayed or not taken care of. Love is often seen as a flower, it is something very beautiful, but fragile and easily destroyed. It takes a lot of effort to keep it attractive, but the result is great.

I think you are talking about desire, you desire them, then you don't. You find them attractive because they hold what you desire, then you decide they don't. Love is another thing that you must surrender to as a couple, and honor it. There's you and the another, and Love. The 3 of you. All 3 must be valued. If you cannot agree between the two of you that here is something greater than just you 2 and it must be protected, then there is nothing but 2 people with 2 egos battling for attention, a guaranteed failure. If LOVE is divine and something beyond family and nations, then whatever we say I love my husband, mother, country or even your own pet is something that does not fare well in the UNIVERSAL SENSE.
For example: if you are a dog lover, than you should be loving any and all kinds of dog, not some particular breed of dog. To love a specific breed of dog is like loving your own husband or your children, while you have the tendency to favor your children over others children.
In that case, the definition of your love is highly restricted and does not hold the TRUTH and truth is timeless and knows no discrimination of all sorts.
When you say JESUS LOVES YOU, does not mean He loves only the christians and implies every body else can go to hell.
I think, love is experienced by HIGHER BEINGS who loves all human and animals a like.

its always based on trust ,faith,love,and respect
i've been in love with ny hubby for 10 yrs i must say the love i have for him is more each day
i don't say we always has good time there's ups and down in everything in life
bt i must say most of the time i enjoy being with him i just simply love him a lot

Love is a feeling we cant take for granted . It is so powerful not to many can explain it in how it is for what it is. Love is a connection that make us feel and become who we are. Love understands all and forgives. Love is like
a ocean full of feelings. We all become part of this and grow with it as it
