Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure to intense interpersonal attraction. The word love is both a verb and a noun. Love is not a single feeling but an emotion built from two or more feelings. Anything vital to us creates more than one feeling, and we also have feelings about our feelings (and thoughts about our feelings). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.

"Sometimes love is stronger than a man's convictions." - Isaac Bashevis Singer

"Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness." - Oliver Wendell Holmes

"Maybe love is like luck. You have to go all the way to find it." - Robert Mitchum

"Love stretches your heart and makes you big inside." - Margaret Walker

"Love has no awareness of merit or demerit; it has no scale... Love loves; this is its nature." - Howard Thurman

"Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
A medley of extemporanea;
And love is a thing that can never go wrong;
And I am Marie of Roumania."

"To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down."
- Woody Allen

There's no real answer to that, beyond saying that it's a set of emotional responses towards someone or something, usually of joy and passion. It's hard to define a feeling.

Or:
What is love?
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me, no more

Love is a chemical reaction in the brain better simulated with chocolate. Chocolate will not betray you and you always know the outcome of getting involved with it. Chocolate will never stab you in the back or steal your John Cusack collection or drown you in emotionally toxic baggage. I say stick with chocolate.

People think that Love is an emotion but depending on the type of love it could also come from the heart.

So you are saying love can feel like angina? The heart is just a muscle. Love is an electrochemical process. It's as simple as that.

Love is unexplainable. A feeling of not wanting to be without another person. Knowing that life could never be the same if they weren't in your life.
