How to write letter to family?

need help writing a letter to my grandma and cousin both separate letter just got information and address but want or need help writing it. only talked to grandma once on the phone, now just want to keep in contact any ideas. makes me feel that im doing something right or i need.

Why not write about your truth - what you're feeling and what you want? Be honest.

What do you have to lose? If they disrespect you because of your honesty, then they weren't that close to you in the first place and you don't want that kind of person in your life. If they honor you, then you've "won" (gotten what you wanted).

Be honest- but you'll probably want to say something like, "Hey I know that we don't know each other very well, but I would like to get to know you more." Then follow it up by asking a few questions. Hows, life- hows the weather? Can I come visit etc.

Finish up by saying what's going on with you... like a journal entry (only maybe not quite so personal.) What's going on in your life? Do you have kids? Are you in college? What did you major in? What are you working on? What are your goals?What do you want to do in life? Things like that.
