How do I get ring tones on the G1 phone

You can set any song on the phone as a ringtone:
Go to your Library, and go to the song you want to use.
Touch and hold the song to open the contextual menu
Select the "use as ringtone" option. That will set the song as your default ring tone
When you go to home -> settings -> sound and display and go to select ring tones, you will be able to select your song.
