lost the volume control for my speakers, now they won't turn on. f****n design flaws. anyone know how to crack s**t open to make it work?

Sound like you got two options. Take them back and get a new set of speakers. Or learn how to use a screwdriver and troubleshoot it yourself if there already broken you don't have much to lose.
