Looking to buy a GPS. Interested in one that tells lists amenities (hotel, food, gas) on demand. What do you recommend?

I would definitely recommend a TomTom GPS.
Personally I use my Dell Axim X51v with a TomTom bluetooth gps and software.
I would recommend that you shop around. Most GPS units these days have POI's or places of interest built into them.
