Looking for the 1986 classic Dark Castle, Pc or Mac (Mac Perfered). Running OSX 10.5.6 Intel Hardware.

Anyway of running it is fine, web based is okay. Any help with info if this is possible or not would be awesome.
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I remember this game; I have the old 5 1/2 inch floppies of the PC game somewhere. A lot of fun, but ridiculously hard. I did happen to come across this web page, which has information on running an emulated Mac version: http://www.metaltheater.com/Articles/DarkCastle/

It has instructions for setting up the emulator, where to find them, how it works, and a link to one of a few sites that offer a download for the game (note, however, that even if it's abandonware, which it probably is, since I can't find anywhere stating it's now a freeware game, but nobody is selling it, that doesn't make downloading it legal, so, I can't really recommend it.) Looking in the links, however, there is one which mentions the current distributor, but they no longer offer it. Unless you have the actual discs yourself, you probably won't be able to actually get your hand on a copy.

However, as a side note, there's also a newer game, made in the same vein, called Return to Dark Castle, here: http://www.superhappyfunfun.com/games/gam_returntodc.html

It's for the Mac OS, and it is for sale there. There's also a demo you can try out to see if you like it or not. Not the original version, but it lists that the original levels are redone and included in this version of the game. Hope that helps. ^_^

Found several copies on both eBay and Amazon (links below), but not for the Mac. Also found a page about running in an emulator, which would be useful if you run with Windows emulator on your Mac. Hope this helps!
