Looking for short length designer jeans for men

I'm 5'5" and whenever I buy jeans I have to take them up, and in the end
they never look quite right not to mention it hurts to pay 80+ bones on
something you have to alter. So is there a Jean manufacture that makes good
looking denim for men that comes in short lengths right from the get-go?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

5' 5" isn't unusually short, so there's no need to look too far. A good tip is to focus on designers that are popular in Asia and Latin America, where 5' 5" may be considered an average height. Evisu, Seven for all Mankind, Diesel, and True Religion are all popular.

If you shop in SoHo in New York, you'll see a lot of men your height in Prada, Paul Smith, Armani Exchange, Marc Jacobs, Agnes B, Uniqlo, Diesel, etc. Diesel seems to have the widest size selection, then again, they are pretty much the leader when it comes to well-fitting denim for men.

If you aren't near a city like New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago, then your best bet online is to check out TrueJeans. They have a "true fit" tool that finds jeans that will fit your exact measurements and body shape. http://www.truejeans.com/jeans/

When you look for jeans, be sure to go for straight cut or slim fit, because baggy jeans or flares will make you look shorter than you really are. The bottom of your jeans should break across the front of your shoe, and cover the back so that they nearly touch the ground - just a few millimeters above when you stand still.

Spend some time reading men's fashion blogs, and learning what looks best on you. Finding your size is important, but it's just as important to know what looks best for your body type. I'll put a couple of my favorite fashion sites in the sources list.

I found hippie jeans at www.denimsquare.com to be very well priced and designer quality.
