Instead of paying the huge prices at a breeder why not use the website petfinder.com to adopt a German Shepherd. So often these pure breeds are given up because the owners are weary of the cost. Pure bred animals have more health problems then mixes do, but you can save an animals life and get your German Shepherd at the same time. I have a german shepherd-sheltie mix that I adopted about 6 months ago. I understand your love of the dog, if I had more space I would have adopted a pure breed too.
