Looking for a free restaurant app.

Okay, I'll admit it. I have an iPhone but I only use the Pandora app to listen to music and don't have a great sense of what other apps are out there. Until recently I haven't really had the need for more apps.

But the other day I was trying to find a good Korean restaurant in Santa Monica, CA, and I wasn't satisfied with what I was getting from scouring the internet.

Is there an app that will list restaurants in a given area? Free is great, but if it's really a great app, I'll consider buying it. The specifics I'm hoping for are:

*Can sort by cuisine, price, and distance from current location
*Can show me user and/or professional reviews
*Can show me a map

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I suggest you take a good look at Urbanspoon app for the iPhone. "use the iPhone's accelerometers to pick up the "shake", find restaurants near you through GPS, and then skew the results towards restaurants that are highly regarded on Urbanspoon.

To download free, kindly visit the link below:

Urbanspoon is a good app for the iPhone, I also use OpenTable, which is also free. This app allows you to book reservations online for local restaurants and it also has recommendations and online menus which will help you pick a restaurant. You can search by city, then by neighborhood or type of cuisine. Then select the date and number in your party and the app will confirm your reservation if there is room available at the desired time. By registering your email address, you will also get newsletters which lists recommended restaurants. You can also login to OpenTable on your computer for reservations and menus. OpenTable also awards points for each reservation done. These points can be redeemed for free dining certificates at a later date.
