Did they commit suicide or did you notify someone?

I'm pretty sure that they committed suicide last night sometime. I contacted the police to let them know all of the information I knew, but they said that without an address it wasn't very useful. In some ways it is a relief, and of course in other ways it is devastating.
They're still alive, but fully intend to do it soon. I can't really notify anybody because I don't have enough personally identifiable information for them.
I hadn't thought about that. I talk with them through an instant messenger service, not a website. There might not really be much that the system's administrator could do to help anyway, aside from providing an IP address. And even that isn't very helpful without a police warrant making the ISP tell me who the address belongs to.
