The best thing I like about living in a small town is the sense of community. Most people are more like family then strangers. When someone needs help most people will drop what they are doing and give a hand. People respect and take care of public places. The big issues are about raising money to put flowers in the park. Just a couple of weeks ago in my city the sheriff put out ads warning people that he was going to start to write tickets when people did not come to a complete stop at a stop sign! Smaller town, smaller problems, more camaraderie.

I grew up in a small town in Northern California, and I wouldn't change it for the world. The town and its' people are my family; they help me when I need help, and teach me new life’s lessons when I need it.

Friendly, laid-back atmosphere. You know everyone, everyone knows you. Generally, don't have to worry about locking your car, house, etc. Lower cost of living. You can buy a lot more house & land for the same amount in a city. No traffic, no city noise.

When you grow up in a small town, everybody knows everybody, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is the best thing. What makes it the best thing is the feeling of family that you can get from a small town. Everybody helps out everybody. If one of the members in the community is struggling, everybody is struggling. Teamwork is always present. Family and friends are everything to people in small towns. I grew up in a small town in Northern California, and I wouldn't change it for the world. The town and its' people are my family; they help me when I need help, and teach me new life’s lessons when I need it.
