LG Wristwatch Phone: Would you buy one?

This feels more like a toy then an actual device... then again, with bluetooth headsets like JawBone getting to the level of perfect maybe it's not a bad idea?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I used a Motorola Pager watch for years. It was very nice to have, as an additional communications option. I think this would fit the same need, an additional device, not a primary. Yes a bluetooth headset makes it more compelling, but battery is still the limiting factor right now.

I would totally buy one because I was a huge Dick Tracy fan and this would let live out my childhood fantasies of communicating via watch.

Of course, I'd have to buy a yellow trenchcoat and hat as well..

Do you know how uncomfortable it'd be to talk on that thing? Unless you had a blue tooth headset, you'd have to hold your wrist to your ear. And how do you text on it? I don't even see a keypad of any sort.

So, no is the answer to your question.

Not me. I currently don't wear a watch, and I don't care for teeny tiny screens let alone keypads.

I wouldn't buy one mainly cause it looks like a real pain to use, it'd take forever to type a text message with that thing and your arm would get tired from holding it up the whole time, you'd have to lean on a table or something.

Maybe when voice recognition gets better it will make these type of devices more appealing, then you could just dictate a text.

Then again things seem to be going the other way, people are abandoning watches and just using their phone to tell the time, I don't wear a watch and neither do most of my friends.

One of the greatest things about watches going out is the fact that I HATE wearing them. It never fails I'm diggin around inside a computer, and it gets snagged. Or worse yet, working on a car and your sitting there wiggling trying to get your arm free because your watch has snagged on a bunch of wires. I may however consider it should it be slimmed down some...the convenience then would be a decent tradeoff...
