Lexus commercial asks to look beyond MPG. Thoughts?

Lexus commercial talks about hih MPG in class. But then offers other reasons to buy it.

I'm sure the makers of luxury cars would like everyone to stop looking at mpg. But as for calling it looking beyond? I'd say they want us to look backwards.

Bad marketing. Nobody is going to look past MPG right now. At a time when people need to save as much money as possible. Then again, this isn't the time that I'd want to be trying to sell a car, especially a Lexus.
