Legit "extra" income online?

I have just recently become engaged and would like to look into extra income online that I might be able to do a few hours a week, that way I can work on paying down credit card debt and put money aside for the future wedding. While I know there are sites that allow you to take surveys or write articles for money I am actually a little more curious about sites that might be data entry kind of jobs since I have done that kind of work in the past for a large bank.

Does anyone have any real world experience with a site that has data entry jobs available as an option or are these kind of sites a little on the shady side?
Tip for best answer: M$1.30
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Don't move without first checking http://www.ivetriedthat.com/ it is quite a bit like Snopes in that it investigates website claims, but this is geared for work at home opportunities. Here is the page for WAH data entry: http://www.ivetriedthat.com/category/data-entry-jobs/ also of interest http://www.ivetriedthat.com/2008/08/14/online-data-entry-jobs-directory/ (Be warned the list is short)

This is one of the better work from home sites. If you complete a page through tasks you are given a flat fee as well as a revinue share from future add click throughs on your page. If you are a fast and skilled writer/editor you can do quite well here.

By "This is one of the better work from home sites" I believe you're referring to Mahalo. If so, I agree. With a bit of work and a bit of online savvy you can get to the point of making more (potentially much more) than the M$150 payout minimum each month, which translates to at least US$1350/year. The top 10 members in terms of payouts on Mahalo over the past few months are cashing out more than $1000/month each.

This is a really good forum that contains a lot of information about working from home:

http://www.wahm.com/forum/

It's geared towards work at home parents, but anyone can join. Full of information about which online opportunities are good, which are bad and why. You might find one that's completely different from what you thought you might do. And it's a nice support network as well.

There are many sites out there that really do pay. Get Paid To Try is one of the better ones. Yes, there are lots of scams -- you just have to check the sites out. Try Get Paid - I've been a member for a long time.

Sites that are "affiliate" sites, where you sign up to get more people to sign up seem like a joke to me... where is there proof that the site you posted is ligit and actually a way to make money in a way besides trying to shove an affiliate site in front of as many people as possible?

Text answering services are also a good option. Text answering is where people (mostly teens) text a phone number with a question, and a live person finds an answer on the computer and sends it back.

http://www.chacha.com/ - ChaCha, just head to the website, sign up, train then take the test. They have a points system that converts to cash at the end of each month.

http://superbowl.kgb.com/ - KGB is also a text answer service. You have to test prior to training and it is a little more difficult. They also charge for the answers they send out, as opposed to ChaCha (whom is free to use)

Good luck!

If only I had enough time to set aside 8 hours of training at a time (or an 8 hour "shift") to do so, I would love to be involved in something like that but with other obligations in life I think anything that that goes beyond a couple hours at a time would be difficult.

There are all kinds of placing that you can make money online you just have to know where to look and be willing to put forth a little bit of effort. I personally use 3 really great websites I have posted them below with explanations of each:

http://www.zoombucks.com/join.php?ref=spunkymel3
You can search and win, take part in special offers, or complete the daily surveys you get points for all of these and then trade them in for gift cards to places like amazon, target, walmart, nordstrom etc.

http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Spunkymel3
Its a search and win site so its like using google but soemtimes you win points you can also do speical offers if you want and can trade in for gift cards or PAYPAL CASH

http://www.irazoo.com/ReferedNewUser.aspx?Refby=spunkymel3
Only a search and win site so just search like you would on google and you will get points for random searches and you can trade them in for gift cards.

This is what I suggest to you. If you have data entry experience, or book keeping stuff like that go to Odesk.com and make a profile, resume, and start applying for jobs. These are the programs I use, and I make enough money to pay bills, and have extra some weeks. ChaCha, textbroker, social spark you will need a blog for this one, amazon mechanical turk, and my blogs. If you can work at night as a customer service rep go to West at Home, or Alpine and get in there. Leapforce is also legit though their test is extremely hard, and you can only take it once. KGB is a good one too, though I don't know how well they pay. If you have a skill such as medical, pets, or law go to Just Answers, and check them out. Good luck, I hope you find something good.
