Within the country and in different states, the rules are similar. Out of the country, the rules are slightly different, but the home study rule stays the same. The adoption itself can cost anywhere from $5,000.00 to $30,000.00, and sometimes there is a fee waiver for some or all of the adoption fees.

For example, when my friend adopted, she was on the list for two years. (Insane considering the number of children in need of a home).
