Legal age of consent in the state of Texas is 17, but in cases of affirmative defense requirements, its 14.

In Texas, the age of consent for sex is 17 years old, meaning that anyone person 17 years old and over can consent to sex with any adult. There are no standing laws for underagers, but Texas courts have recognised that consenting sex can exist between teenagers, and the general rule of thumb is that someone 14 and over can have sex with someone who is not more than 3 years older than they are.
