Can I get a child support order transferred to my state?

I live in Colorado my son has lived with me for 2 years. His mother, Stephanie has lived in Louisiana for 6 years. I went through DSS for child support last year. She has 3 other kids none of them are disabled. She doesn't work but her father sends her 1,500.00 a month to pay her bills. Child support enforcement only makes her pay 100 a month, but she never reported the money her dad gives her. I filed for a review but the case worker here says it's not her job to contact Louisiana and Stephanie said her case worker never got the paperwork. There are just a lot of things that I don't understand and I'm not getting any help. The order was signed by a Louisiana judge, but is there some way that I can have it transfered to Colorado? I have a custody case we are going through right now, which I am getting full custody with supervised visitation for her because of abuse that my son went through. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't afford a lawyer.

Yes, your caseworker in CO can request that your case be an interstate case. That would mean that they deal w/ your part in CO since you live there and LA would enforce the order since she lives there... If you take the order out of LA and change venue to CO, there is nothing CO can do to enforce it from there.
Its best that the order is filed in the state the NCP (non-custodial parent) lives because that is the state that can by law enforce the order. BUT your state CO can request and interstate case as to where they keep in contact w/ LA and have the order for support filed there so that LA can do the enforcement of the order.
OR you can just file a case w/ Child Support Enforcement in LA yourself so that not too many people are involved....
ALSO, if her daddy is giving her money that is income that she doesn't have "proof" of. THey base the obligation on what is reported by social security earnings. unless you can prove that she gets that money, but I'm sure her dad will cover for her.
I know it sucks, I'm in the same boat as you....
Do you have a hard time dealing w/ LA child support is that why you opened a case w/ CO? I actually worked for Child Support Enforcement here in NM, your southern neighbor!

The whole thing is complicated and confusing to me. I have proof that she gets the money because she had to submit a sworn financial statement to the state of CO. I live in Colorado, and have filed a custody case here. But I went for child support before that because there is an investigation going on in LA concerning abuse that my son went through while living with her. I tried to file custody before, but was told by a few lawyers to wait until the investigation was done and to go through CSE for child support. We have been seeing a facilitator at the court house here for the custody, which is agreed on by her and me. I will get sole custody of my son, she gets supervised visitations and stuff. The facilitator had me file a copy of the child support order because it's mandatory that the judge reviews it in this case too. It's hard dealing with any of the DSS in this case. They said that they are doing an interstate case, BUT my case worker tells me it's not in her jurisdiction to contact LA? I don't think she's doing her job, but I guess we'll see when we go to court for the custody.
