Lately my mouse has been doing a lot of accidental double click, is this a hardware problem or is this a virus?
I wonder is this the mouse ghetting old or is this some kind of virus infection?
I have used several antivirus and haven't detected much.

This will most likely fix your problem. If not, try to use the mouse on an other (XP) machine, and see if the problem occurs there too. You can also borrow another mouse to use with your Windows 7 machine.
This should give you enough information to decide where the actual problem lies, Mouse, Windows 7 driver, or Windows setup.

There can be a few issues related to the mouse acting up, the ones I have found that have resolved it for me are as follow:
1. My laptop has a mouse pad built into it. If I attached another mouse by USB I sometimes get this double click and odd almost auto clicking behaviour. I turned off the mouse pad on my laptop and the USB mouse worked fine after that.
2. I have encountered mouse issues in past that were related to the mouse driver that was installed. Moving from XP to Vista caused me issues and I updated the mouse driver and resolved the issues.
3. A low battery in my mouse, using a wireless mouse, caused my mouse to become sensitive at first and double clicks happened, then the mouse stopped working as the battery got weaker.
4. Mouse setup, the double click sensitivity may be set to sensitive check that as well.
Those have been my experiences, so you might want to keep the solutions I found in mind if it happens again.
