What's a cheap rate for a hotel room on the strip in Las Vegas?

My friends and I are looking to go to Las Vegas in mid-June. We want to stay on the strip so we don't have to constantly take a taxi all over the city.

What's the best rate for a fun place on the strip? I'm thinking there would be decent rates for rooms at the Flamingo or Ballys or something. What's the best rate?

CircusCircus is on the strip and rooms are about $30.
