What is are the horizontal and vertical lines on my Acer Travelmate 2300 series Laptop LCD screen?

There is one red vertical line running from the top to the bottom of the screen and one feint white line that runs across the screen horizontally. Any ideas as to what this is and if there is anyway of removing them?

your LCD crystals have been misaligned inside of the monitor .. I have been through this also ... my best advice is to get your LCD replaced. Contact http://www.screencountry.com they have direct phone line and online support on their site that you can ask questions. They will have your screen

It could also mean that your graphic card may be shot. What I would do is take it to a computer shop but don't say what you think is wrong because then they will try to say yep thats what is wrong and they will find some other things wrong and charge you a boot leg of money. I would suggest some where local and someone that is respectable.
