Lamp cover - mandatory standards and labels?
I'm designing a lamp cover, to be attached to an existing lamp(no particular lamp, just any).
The lamp cover itself is not connected to the electric circuit and it's made out of plastic (acrylic). The only thing that can happen is that it gets warm, but not too hot.
Does anyone know if it needs to adhere to certain standards and if it needs to get a specific label before it can be sold in USA and/or Europe? If so, which label and which standards (and where to download them?).

As far as I know, and I have researched this heavily, there is no specific standard for lamp covers. Acrylic is a commonly used material for lamp covers and must be deemed safe if multiple people safely use it.
I would recommend calling and talking about your design with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for a detailed answer.
