Name 9 other books of the english literature published between 1400 and 1980 I should have read
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Off the top of my head, here are a my nine (OK I couldn't reduce it to 9, so there are ten of them):

Sons and Lovers - DH Lawrence
Oliver Twist - Dickens
Of Human Bondage - Maugham
Sense and Sensibility - Austen
Persuasion - Austen
A Christmas Carol - Dickens
A Tale of Two Cities - Dickens
Grat Expectations - Dickens
Wthering Heights - Bronte
Little Women - Lawrence

All of these except Of Human Bondage and Sons & Lovers have been movies or stage plays within the last 25 -30 years. Chirstmas Carol is done every year ss a staged Christms show all across the country and on TV, and probably comes out in one version or another in a movie every two years.

I have read all of these and recommend them highly to anyone who wants a cross section of British literature to begin them on their way to a solid foundation in the subject area.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin
Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Hard Times by Charles Dickens
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
1984 by George Orwell
The Lord of the Rings by J R Tolkien
