Just what makes up mascara?
What ingredients are in the typical mascara? How often should I change my mascara? Is it true that bacteria can grow in mascara tubes?

Hello,
The ingredients that are in mascara depend on what brand and type you use. The main ingredients in mascara are waxes, oils, water, and coloring. Examples of waxes may include carnauba, paraffin, and beeswax. Some of the oils used are mineral, linseed, castor, lanolin, and eucalyptus. As for the coloring in brown and black mascara, iron oxide and carbon black may be used. Ingredients added for volume and length are rayon and nylon fibers. It can also contain vitamins for conditioning.
Bacteria can form in your mascara. There are ways to avoid catching conjunctivitis or any other eye infection. Another individual’s mascara will contain their germs, so do not share. Do not add any form of liquid to your mascara unless it is sterilized. Keep it in a place that is below 85 degrees. You should only keep mascara for about 2-3 months. After that, bacteria will probably be growing in it.
