I am so sorry to hear of your dog's passing. We lost our 14-year-old Golden, Murphy, last summer. It was one of the toughest decisions we've ever had to make and we miss him every single day. Murph was a great dog - and a little too smart for his own good. He was excellent at hiding things...my shoes, my socks and more than one remote control. We'd find stuff in all rooms of the house - shoved under beds, under covers, all over the place. I tried several times to explain to Murph that he was a Golden Retriever - not a Golden Hider. Just never seemed to sink in!

Again, my condolences on your loss.

I have a yellow lab named Rockey, had him for over 8 years now, since he was a small puppy. Ever since we moved countries, I've not been able to see him much. My father then passed away, and now there's no one to take care of him at the cottage so we had to take him into our apartment. It's too small for him, and there's no areas to really walk him in this city. I don't want to give him away, so many good memories, but it doesn't look like he can be here for too long.

I remember when he was a small puppy, that cried every night in his little sleeping area, and we had to sleep beside him for a few weeks.

I'm so sorry about your loss. I've had many pets throughout my life, but I've never been as close to any as I am to my dog, Cookie, who is now 3 1/2. She makes me smile every single day, and I can't imagine not having her around. We recently found out that she has epilepsy, and her diagnosis really put things in to perspective for me. I'm just trying to enjoy every moment with her that I can.

We made the decision to start up a saltwater fish tank meaning we get emotionally attached to many fish and critters, one of the saddest losses was our Manderinfish Titus. Fish don't last too long.
