While I haven't heard anything quite that awesome, AT&T has offered a promotion where customers get an Acer Aspire One netbook for the subsidized price of $49.95 when they sign-up for two years of broadband service through AT&T.
As for FREE netbooks? I haven't heard a thing and would be skeptical unless I saw it in writing from the company.
