First I'm glad to hear you and your family are okay.
But..
Wow! I hear earthquakes are the leading cause of injury and death by earthquakes!
The media does sensationalize many topics for the sake of "newsworthiness" and I'm sure other reasons could be subjectively discussed for hours but one thing is for sure if it wasn't for the media we would not be having a conversation about the media.
Breaking News!!! Scientists have concluded that life is the leading cause of death!
This Just In!!! A recent government study confirms that a study might or might not be needed on the topic of spending costs as they relate to the media and its effect on elections!
Just After the Break... Commercials... toooo commercially?? More at 11 and now at 11:30
Also at Midnight... Exposed!! Nearly ALL physical injury will result in pain!

News Flash! Earthquake strikes (5,000 miles) off the coast of Los Angeles!
I live in Tokyo. Yesterday I experienced the "7.1 earthquake" off of the coast of Tokyo mentioned in the media.
While it was not pleasant (as earthquakes never are), it was far from anything life threatening or damaging as it was 200 miles off of the coast and 188 miles deep.
So my question is:
Do you think the media is overdoing stories like this to make them more "newsworthy"?
