I'm too young to know many John Wayne movies. I grew up with Clint.
So initially i say Clint all the way.
After some thought, I found John to be a very talkative icon. While Clint was the deadly man of few words. I think i favor that.
Second, John was just so clean cut. He always looked like an army officer, which he often played. Kind of reminds me of Kevin Costner in "Dances with Wolves". He doesn't look like a man used to sleeping on the ground under the moon light. Clint on the other hand, i believe upholds the true look of a cowboy.
SO, Clint Eastwood all the way. Even his name sounds like a cowboy. =)

How can one be better?
They were both excellent actors that played the roles that were given them.
