I would have to say that job would be up there as my top 3 best jobs in the world.
My top jobs though would be traveling the world exploring new and exotic things trying to debunk myths, trying to find the truth about stories of weird around the world. Hunt strange creatures talked about by the local people. If this is sounding familiar it is cause I want to work for the television show Destination Truth.
My other of my top 3 jobs in the world would be to be a host of a Travel Channel Special that talks about off beat travel around the world. As my side job with TC I would also like to be their pilot for the aerial shots of the countrysides and cityscapes etc.
Oh and by the way I VOTE Cali for the job of Caretaker unless they change their mind and call me HEHE!!

my perfect job would actually be something in the form of a traveling ambassador for the United States. It has politics, marketing, living, travel, and a form of high class life style to it. Plus i would be able to meet leaders of the world, represent this great nation and maybe do some good in a high power area of political expression.

Getting on to answer the question, my ideal job would be something that I enjoy doing so much that I just feel like I'm getting paid to live. Like when I used to work with inner-city youth, those kids were my life and I got paid for working with them, it was great. When I'm able to go back to college, I think I'll go for web and graphic design because I can sit around and tweak graphics and html all day long and have a blast. I've worked some jobs that I hated so much, and I ended up seeing a personality change that I didn't like. I became a very angry, depressed, cynical person. I don't want that. I want my job to bring out the happy, laughing, hopeful personality in me that I know I have.
So yeah. I want a job that I can work til I retire at a good age. I want to have enough money in the bank to safely retire on. And by the time that comes, I want to have done enough that I can hold my head up high and be proud of what I've accomplished.

What's your idea of "the best job in the world"?
As a benchmark, take a look at this:
http://www.islandreefjob.com/
It's a six month contract, paying $100k, to be the "caretaker" of a tropical island in the Great Barrier Reef. The main part of the job is to explore everything that the Barrier Reef has to offer, and blog, vlog and promote it. It's a real job, but also a marketing exercise by Tourism Queensland as well.

Is this your idea of the best job in the world?
If not, what is?

• I like that you gave a very specific answer, and it is your idea of the best job in the world, not just a good job you have a realistic chance of getting!

That would be one of my ideal jobs, as it involves marketing, internet, research, living, exploring, and reviewing, oh yeah and the pay and location is pretty nice as well. my perfect job would actually be something in the form of a traveling ambassador for the United States. The best job in the world is one that you are passionate about, one that get's you up and out of bed in the morning and looking forward to beginning work. The job up above is certainly a great looking one for a sun worshipper but probably would not be a great one for the person that can't live without their Starbucks on the way to work.

I saw that, and was going to apply for it, but then my mom chimed in. It's in the middle of nowhere, is there cell phone reception? And even if there is, I'm on an island by myself. So what if I'm checking the reefs out and clunk my head? Even if people know I'm seriously injured, where's the closest hospital? Heck, does the island even HAVE a hospital or would I have to be flown to another island? How good would the health care there be? Besides, everyone and their mother's uncle would know that rich lil ole me was there alone... what's to say a few creative people wouldn't try to vandalize the place or break in? What kind of security would there be? What kind of help would be available to me? Getting on to answer the question, my ideal job would be something that I enjoy doing so much that I just feel like I'm getting paid to live. To work on a cruise ship is awesome. I mean earning good tax free money while traveling the world, that is very cool. They don't need to spend that much as well as cruise lines takes care of their meals and their accommodation. It is also a good chance to meet people from different country and culture. That would be a great chance to expand one's chances in his career.
