Someone who is respectful of the individuals who work for them and also can command respect by earning it, through their knowledge, ability to lead and ability to unify a team setting in the work place.

Someone who can manage to be feared and loved at the same time.
Also knowledge will almost always reign supreme.

I believe a boss should be a "working boss" not someone who sits around and delegates tasks. Also, a boss should never ask or expect someone to do anything that they wouldn't t do themself. Open communication is a key with getting your employees to work. I recommend not getting too friendly with employess as sometimes this can backfire on you. Been there done that. Obviously you must be on the ball having been chosen for this position. As for my current boss....wouldn't change a thing.

P.S. Please do not let this authority go to your head and change you into thinking you are better than all....I have witnessed this too.

She/he shall be agood leader,shows the co-workers respect.
A good boss is not sitting at the office whole the day,a good boss is also working on the floor
