Yes, you should be able to opt out of healthcare. There will probably be some type of waiver that you sign at work, just ask you HR department. However, I highly recommend that you get healthcare because you never know when you'll get into a serious accident or come down with a serious illness. Even just going to the doctor for a regular checkup or for a simple cold can be very expensive. So really think about it before you decide to waive your healthcare benefits.

Is it a must that a person sign up for coverage when they're newly employed? Can one opt out for a bigger paycheck?
