Are you selected because of your strengths and carry out an important role on the team?

Do you think your employer recognizes your strengths and assigns you appropriate team roles?

I'm not exactly on a team. At one point, I worked my way into a leadership position, yes. But I sort of self-selected on it.

Not everyone who deserves leadership gets it. There are many companies who either don't recognize excellence, or they put people in middle management positions who are afraid of potential competition and push emerging leaders back down. That's a terrible kind of company to work for, and explains why those companies are not usually leaders in their fields.
