Last year I snuck over to my mother's house while she was out to work and cleaned the entire upstairs. She loved it. It's a great gift for a mother with kids still living at home.

I would take her to a nice seafood restaurant on the beach and also get her some flowers and a nice card. Maybe find some old photos and put one or two in a frame. Yeah, cliche, but mom's seem to love it.

My mom loves pink carnations, so one year I sent her a dozen. Last year I gave her a Talbot's gift card. Maybe this year, I'll go with an Olive Garden card. My parents are tight with the purse strings, so the best way to get them to enjoy themselves is gift cards.

A day at the spa would be nice. A pedicure or manicure or both. A mom loves to be pampered, something she sometimes does not have time for.

This would consist of:
  • Shopping
  • A relaxing therapy session
  • A nice meal in a restaurant
