Jennifer Grey won the coveted mirror ball award for ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" last night, but did she really deserve the trophy?

Last night on the finale of ABC's "Dancing with the stars" actress Jennifer Grey and her partner Derek Hough beat out fellow contestants Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin for the coveted mirror ball trophy. Some say she came into the competition with too much previous dancing experience and should have never won the trophy, what do you think?

I personally feel that Jennifer Grey had every right to win. Remember back to past seasons, that fact of a contestant having experience doesn't matter. Nicole Scherzinger has PLENTY of experience, she's a Pussycat Doll and they do a lot of dancing too. Personally I find it best to include those who do and don't have experience, but a wise choice may be to put someone with no experience and hardly any talent, like Kate Gosselin for example, with someone who may be wickedly talented. If anything that may make it a tad bit more fair, but all in all she deserved to win and I couldn't agree more that is was a fantastic tribute to Patrick Swayze.

I do think that the disparity between the experience level of the contestants on "Dancing With The Stars" is a consistent problem that skews the competition in favor of contestants with previous experience and/or athletic training. However, as the rules of the show do not disqualify contestants based on previous experience, such contestants who claim victory do so fairly. Jennifer Grey was deemed the best dancer by both the judges and the viewing audience. She did an incredible job and paid a wonderful tribute to "Dirty Dancing" co-star, Patrick Swayze, in the process.

I am not sure Why Grey was in the Dancing with the star. My thought about the program was the starts who don't have any dancing experience were allowed to compete. Anyway, she danced well, obviously. No one got that high marks and votes. So what can I say?????

Yes, she did. She garnered the highest scores from the judges and she was really good on the dance floor. The other two contenders were also good but Jennifer was the best.

She deserved it because she worked hard. I mean, even though, she had dancing experience, including Dirty Dancing, she proved herself. I think it wasn't a competition really with the other two. They should have kept Brandy and it would have been a competition.

Just like many of the Olympic sports, who wins is in the eye of the beholder. It is not always the best, sometimes popularity plays an important role.

Definitely! Jennifer was poised, graceful, and danced with confidence. I was more disappointed that Brandy got voted off. I believe Jennifer and Brandy were the best two.

I definitely believe Jennifer Grey deserved the mirror ball trophy. The previous experience helped her for sure, but it had been many years ago. She had to work hard every week, even with injury to her spine. The judges and American people gave her high scores. Bristol Palin worked her way up with persistence and confidence, but I think it was more popularity and her Mom's fan club that led her to be in the final two. I thought Brandy should have stayed in, and it would have been more competitive. Kyle was so cute and improved in skill and charisma. But I was happy with the final decision! lol

So what if she had experience before? Other contestants had various bits and pieces of experience too in past seasons. Grey constantly scored high marks weekly and she did deserve to win. Palin on the other hand to my knowledge, scored low weekly and wasn't eliminated. Was it for ratings and/or politics? That's up to the viewers to decide.
