Jason C. was talking about a guy that said you needed to fail or have a hard life to have drive and to succeed. Who was he talking about?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Harry Weinberg had a hard life but succeeded. Check out the source articles for the details of his life.

While trying to find more information, I also remember another Weinberg mentioned by Malcolm Gladwell. His name was Sidney, so not the same person, but also interesting because both Weinbergs were outsiders, and they have an advantage of not having to keep up appearances, which limit other entrepreneurs. (See last source) I think Jason Calacanis may be able to relate to both of these individuals because of his background.

Michael Jordan, the famous basketball player, once said, "To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail."

No it was a business person. They said you need to have a hard childhood to have ambition or something along those lines.
