I've got some sage that I planted for the first time. What's the best way to harvest and dry it?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are two ways that you can store your sage and other herbs: by drying it or freezing it. Sage tends to retain more of it's flavor in the frozen form.
I have tried this option out for quite a few of my home-grown herbs and have never been dissapointed.
1.Take your sage and measure it out so that you will always have the same amount (e.g., 1 leaf, 1 tsp).
2. Put your sage into an icecube try and fill it with water.
3. Put in your freezer until you are ready to use.
When ready you will have an already measured, fresh batch of sage to use.
Enjoy.
