Even if the train isn't scheduled for any more services that time of night, it won't just sit on the platform. Most likely it would go someplace where it can be cleaned up, refuelled etc.
If you need a place to park yourself until the morning, check if the station is open 24 hours a day, and if there is anything like a coffee shop or waiting area where you can hang out.

I am taking an overnight train in Europe. It arrives at 2am. Will they let me sleep more or kick me out?
It is from Italy to Slovenia and arrives at 2am. Will they let me sleep more or kick me out when it arrives?
