It seems like everybody's on FaceBook. I don't have an account. Am I missing out on something?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Nope. Not unless you're looking for someone in *particular* (like an old high school classmate or a family member or like that). It's rather hard to "find" someone else to meet. One has to be rather "trustful" don't you think? You'd have to "gamble" on joining "groups" of various sorts. Like, say, search on all the folks who live in your town (Happytown, Somestate) and guess that one of'em (Herbert Hoover) would be a worthwhile friend based on Herbert's profile and photo?
Not for me. Especially considering the recent flap about what info other people (including Facebook themselves) can keep and access from your profile...

M$But it is a good way to make contact with people you used to know and see what is happening in their lives (sometimes maybe too much information)
You can always be like me and just create an account with only the basic information about yourself and just ignore all the goofy requests.

M$Also it seems most of the people on facebook are not tech savvy, I had been working within social networks for years before I joined facebook and was annoyed at how my real life friends acted on the Internet (adding spammy apps etc...) At this point, facebook for me is nothing more then a place of contact for old friends who might want to get a hold of me.
So, in conclusion, if you want to reconnect with old friends facebook might be the network for you.
