Is your company looking for a summer Software Engineering Intern?

I am currently a 4th-year Software Engineering undergrad student at the Rochester Institute of Technology who is looking for a co-op (paid internship) for the summer and/or fall terms. I know this is an unconventional method of getting my name out there, but I hope that my unique approach sets me apart.

My resume is available upon request, but here is a brief summary of my qualifications:

  • Languages: Java, Ruby, C, C++, Objective C, MySQL, PHP, ActionScript 3.0, XHTML, CSS, Visual Basic 6
  • Environments: Windows 98/2000/XP/Vista/7, Mac OS X, Linux, Unix, Solaris
  • Software Proficiency: VMware Fusion/Server, Eclipse, Xcode, LaTEX, SciTE, Adobe Creative Suite 4, Wireshark, Microsoft Office 2008, iWork '09
I have stellar public speaking skills, as I have been performing in plays and musicals for about 8 years, and I have also been a part of an all-male a cappella group for 4 years. I also have great leadership and teamwork skills, as a former Boy Scout, marching band section leader, President of a Special Interest House, and Public Relations Director of my a cappella group. I feel that one of my strongest attributes is my ability to approach a problem from multiple prespectives to find the best solution through creating synergy with the analytical and creative sides of the brain.

I am most interested in working on the West Coast, Detroit area, or the Rochester, NY area, but I am certainly open to other locations. My Twitter and Facebook contact information is available through my Mahalo profile, and my email address will be furnished upon request.
Tip for best answer: M$5.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Take a look at DRW Trading Group. www.drwtrading.com They are based in Chicago and I believe they have a paid internship program during the summer. Just contact their recruiting dept.
