Is today hug a Korean day? What is the penalty if I do not participate in this holiday's requirements?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The penalty is that you don't get to feel the warm embrace of a Korean. Other than that, I don't think that there are any penalties for not participating in the holiday's titular requirement.

It is also Nude Day, so if you don't feel comfortable hugging a Korean, maybe getting naked is more your thing. Just don't try to celebrate both holidays at the same time.

Why not? That sounds more fun to me, if I get to pick the Korean.

Yes, February 6 2009 was Hug a Korean day. This was a Facebook event rather than a government mandated holiday, so the only penalty was the lack of potential hugs. Since it was organized on Facebook, it may have lacked any actual hugs at all. Maybe there were just the the little e-hugs.
