Is there such a thing as a solid body Archtop Guitar?
I am pretty clear about archtop guitars except for this. Are they always hollow bodied? I know when they were originally introduced by the Gibson Guitar Company in the late 1800s this was the case and they were acoustic guitars. But once the archtop design was incorporated into an electric guitar, did they remain hollow bodied, or did they go to a solid body design? I have seen them made by Godin. I believe the hybrid guitars, those that can be played acoustically or electrically, are usually hollow bodied. But is there such a thing as a solid body archtop guitar? And if so, do you still get the warm full sound of the hollow body guitar?

Although I appreciate the information, there is nothing to back it up. I had planned to use this as information on a page and without a valid reference, I can't do that. I can't go on hearsay - I need a citation. Sorry.
