Is there any way to sync an iPhone 3G with more than one computer?

I have a good friend who has an iPhone 3G although I’m not sure which OS that is on it. She is going on vacation for a couple of weeks at a cabin that has a computer there. She’s never been there before but she wants to update about 25 apps while she is there. When she has tried to sync her iPhone with another computer before, an error message comes up stating that it will delete all of the current data in the phone if she tries to sync it. Is this what happens and is there any way to prevent it?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, I think this is possible. I have read an online article on how you will be able to do this. You can sync your iPhone to multiple computers by doing the following steps:

First be sure that iTunes on both computers are not running

1. Sync your iPhone on one computer first by locating your "iTunes Library" and "iTunes Musice Library xml" files. This is found in either your "User > Music > iTunes" on your Mac or "My Music or Music > iTunes" on your PC.

2. Try to locate and open the iTunes Music library xml" by tag and copy the 16 digital string in between the tags.

3. Go to the other computer with iTunes you want to sync you iPhone with and find the "iTunes Library" and "iTunes Music Library xml".

4. Go to the file "iTunes Musicl Library xml" and open this on the new computer and find the tags again. Then be sure to Copy the existing 16 digital string and save it for safekeeping for you will need them later and replace the existing 16 digital string with the one you copied from your other "iTunes Music Library xml." file.

5. Then open the "iTunes Library file using Hex editor.

6. Look for the 'Find' and 'Replace' command in the Hex Editor and under the Find dialog, paste the existing 16 digital string you kept for safe keeping and under the replace dialog past the 16 digital string you copied from your other computer and click return or enter. Save and close the file.

7. On the other computer, startup iTunes and hook up your iPhone to it and you are done!
