More seriously, it's in "pre-production" but is not a done deal yet. The writer's strike seems to have delayed things. So there is some truth to it, but the movie may never see the light of day.
My guess is with the success of other 80's properties (Transformers) that this will go ahead and the release date of 2010 will be accurate.
Looks like it will be an animated movie. Casting is reportedly starting soon. Charlie Wen and Gerry O’Flagherty have been tied to the movie.
These are gaming guys who did "Gears of War," so it could be great to give the movie a really cool look and feel.
The more I look into this, the more it may not suck. That would be nice.

M$A fan-made trailer has been making the rounds around YouTube, to much critical acclaim and generating some buzz about the potential real movie. Check out the video for an idea of what a Thundercats movie may look like, if it ever comes to fruition.

M$about: "About Us
For as long as I can remember I have been a Thundercats fan. I have watched them turn just about every cartoon I grew up watching into a movie except for the one that would make the best (or at least that is what I have been telling people all my adult life).
At long last someone has seen the light and very soon (well…2010!) Thundercats The Movie will be released and myself and countless others who grew up in the 80’s will be puuurrrring with delight!
Once I heard the rumours about the possibilities of a Thundercats movie I started looking for info all over the web. I have decided that I may as well post up what I find and perhaps some other Thundercats fans will find it useful.
Legal stuff - I have no affiliation with the copyright owners of Thundercats and the thoughts and opinions expressed on this site are mine unless otherwise stated."
