Is there any point in answering old unanswered questions? Found many within my expertise, but don't know if people care after a few hrs/days

I did a few searches for topics that interest me and discovered lots of unanswered questions from days or even months ago that I could answer. Is there any reason to do so, or would I just be wasting time and clogging up the works much like someone who revives old threads that were put to rest in a busy forum?

I assume that if it hasn't been answered after a few hours, nobody cares and the person who asked it either forgot about it or found the answer outside of Mahalo.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, I think it's still worth answering old questions. Even if the original asker has already found the answer elsewhere, other people searching for the answer may stumble upon the question and your answer. It just adds to the overall database of knowledge here. Plus, you can still get points/tips for answering older questions!

Weird, I was literally just thinking the exact same thing. I answer old unanswered questions because I think they would still be interested. Plus I have some questions unanswered and I wish someone would eventually answer them.

Yes, I have sometimes got no answer to my questions, and I'm usually glad if they do get an answer eventually.

I just discovered Mahalo because I did a google search so I think it would help people not only in Mahalo to have old questions answered.

I think you should answer them. I think that it helps to make Mahalo a better site when even old questions are answered.

Yes, definitely answer them even if the questions are a few days old. Nothing annoys me more when I ask a question and noone answers it.
