Is there any effective natural remedy or cure for Trichomoniasis?
While having a girl-to-girl talk with a friend’s teenage daughter, she told me of some symptoms she had been having lately. I told her to go for a test and she found out it was trichomoniasis. But I was surprised when she told me she won’t be going for any medication because the last time she had an STD the treatments weren’t effective; she had to go for a natural cure. This made me wonder if there is really a natural cure for Trichomoniasis. If yes, what is it and how can one make it? Is it suitable for a seventeen year old girl?

Several herbs, when taken in combination, boost the immune system. Herbalists believe that by boosting the immune system, the body can fight invading protozoan like those that cause trichomonas.
Here are some of the most recommended herbal remedies to cure trichomonas:
* Garlic: Herbalists know garlic as an antibacterial agent. It’s used in folk remedies to cure worms and other parasites. Garlic also naturally lowers cholesterol and blood pressure. Odorless tablets as well as adding garlic to the diet are effective in fighting infections like trichomoniasis.
* Echinacea: A powerful immune-boosting herb, Echinacea also provides antimicrobial and antibacterial support.
* Goldenseal: Like Echinacea, goldenseal also provides antibacterial properties.
* Barberry: Barberry provides liver support, believed essential for cleansing and healing.
* Milk thistle: The best-known herb for liver support, milk thistle aids in healing by allowing the body to clear toxins.
* Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil provides antibacterial and antifungal action when used as a topical treatment. Some evidence suggests that a diluted formula of tea tree oil, when used as directed by a qualified naturopath or herbalist, can be used vaginally to cure trichomonas. Please see a qualified medical practitioner before trying tea tree oil.
Diet to Fight Trichomonas
Adjusting the diet also helps. Eliminating sugar enables the immune system work more effectively. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables and fiber provides essential nutrients that support healing.
Several vitamins are also useful to cure trichomonas. Vitamin E oil and Vitamin A may be prescribed by an herbalist or naturopathic physician. When used topically, they are reputed to heal trichomonas. Taking Vitamin E supplements and a good multi vitamin also provides essential support.
