Is there an Oktoberfest celebration in your home town? Do you dress for it?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Kitchener, Ontario is a well known community with a large German population. There is a very strong tradition of both a traditional Oktoberfest and a somewhat Americanized Oktoberfest.
I personally would not consider a local Oktoberfest complete without either my 2005 Munich Oktoberfest keg hat ... or my 2004 Munich Oktoberfest Rooster Head hat. At local events, I will also not accept a beer that is less than 1 liter nor allow the waitress to bring rounds of beer on a platter ;)

However, for slightly more traditional attire, it is difficult to forget Lederhosen, a red paid collared shirt, knee socks and slightly warn leather shoes.

M$I'd like to go to one now as an adult. I live in Maine and we are more about our french heritage and our acadian hertitage here, at least in my corner of the woods, if you will.

M$I see from your link you are talking about somewhere near Portland Oregon. Oktoberfest is at the end of September, is it still summer there? I wasn't asking how to dress, but "if you dress" by which I meant in traditional German/Bavarian/Alpine costume.
? 14 ounce beers at an Oktoberfest? What are they thinking? 1 liter is traditional, or pitchers so that you can fill your own stein.
