Yes, the NFL team in Philadelphia is the Philadelphia Eagles. They were founded in 1933 as the Frankford Yellow Jackets. Due to a shortage of players because of World War II, In 1943 they merged with the Pittsburgh Steelers to form the Steagles. The Eagles won three league championships (1948, 1949 and 1960). They currently play in the NFC Eastern Division and have won the division championship in 1980, 1988, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. The Eagles have made the playoffs 22 times and the Super Bowl twice, but lost both times. Their home stadium is Lincoln Financial Field. They played at old Veterans Stadium from 1971 through 2002. Hall of Fame members from the Eagles include Chuck Bednarik, Bob Brown, Reggie White, Steve Van Buren, Tommy McDonald, Earle "Greasy" Neale, Pete Pihos, Sonny Jurgensen and Norm Van Brocklin. The team is currently owned by Jeffrey Lurie and is coached by Andy Reid.
