is there a way to remove street view images for specific locations from Google Maps?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

When you are viewing the image in street view, you can click on the bottom left of the view, REPORT A PROBLEM. When you do this a new window opens. You are able to select the reason for reporting the problem: Privacy Concerns (Reference to an image of: a face, my house, my car license), Innappropriate content, or Other. You describe the problem and enter your email address.

I read the source provided in the other answer posted here, and it looks like after they requested the initial listing of items noted, they then backed down and requested less.

Yes. But it's very hard.

Here are the steps that someone uncovered:
1. Provide your legal name.

2. Provide your e-mail address.

3. Provide the street view address of the Street View image you would like removed.

4. Include the sworn statement: "I declare, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notification is accurate."

5. Attach a clear, readable copy of a valid photo ID (e.g. driver's license, national ID card, etc). If you are requesting removal of an image of a location, attach a copy of a document demonstrating your association with that location ( e.g. business card or letterhead).

6. Please e-mail your completed verification form, along with the necessary attachment, to maps-legal@google.com within 5 days. If you are unable to upload a copy of your photo ID electronically in an e-mail, you may also fax us a copy of your form and photo ID to (650) 887-0389.
