Is there a way to remove or move some of the ads from the mahalo page?

Tip for best answer: M$0.30
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

You can move the ads around by moving the sections that are around it. You can ad new ads, but you cannot remove them once they are on there.

I think it appropriate to remove ads that have no relevance to the topic on the page. I find them cropping up here and there, thereby distracting from the topical relevance of the page.

Perhaps we could individually send information about the irrelevant ads to the management and request that they be removed.

We all want to have the highest quality pages, so removing the crud will make the pages seem more professional.

I understand that mahalo uses the ads for revenue. My problem is that I was a little mouse heavy and ended up with more ads on the page then I intended and they were all the same ads and put into the same general area. I can work it out if need be, I just thought there was an easier fix.

@awrit it would have been very helpful to note that you were "a little mouse heavy and ended up with more ads on the page" since I think most people read your question and thought you wanted to remove the DEFAULT ads from the Mahalo page. Had the extra detail been included in your original question I do believe you would have received a great deal more helpful answers :)

I agree with you, but another answer was actually the best answer. I thank you for your input.

Mahalo gets much of the revenue (that pays for the tips) from Google AdSense. A million dollars a year according to source article. So if you remove the ads you lose the revenue stream.

The ads are all in one place and I want to either remove one or move one.

Ads are placed in certain area's on Mahalo based on where they are most likely to gain views. Moving an ad could result in a decrease in clickthrough which in turn decreases revenue. Keep in mind that Mahalo is a business and has to make money, and while you might want to move/remove an ad they aren't going to allow that, in the best interest of the company.

I appreciate your input but the answer was not very helpful in solving my problem. Thank you

I find that the ads are placed randomly and not always in the best place to optimize revenue. But they can be moved by moving the sections around the ads.
